Say It Later — Privacy Policy

Say It Later is an offline voice-reminder app. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

Data Collection

No data collected. We do not use analytics, ads, tracking SDKs, or servers. No account or sign-in.

On-Device Data

• Audio: Voice recordings you create are saved in the app's private files and, on Android 10+, published to Music/Say It Later via MediaStore. They are not uploaded. Deleting a reminder deletes its audio file and notification channel.
• Reminders: Title, scheduled time, duration, and channel ID are stored locally in Room (say-it-later.db) on your device.

Permissions

• RECORD_AUDIO — to record your voice when you tap the mic (requested only then).
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — to show reminders; you can allow/deny.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — for precise reminder timing (falls back to inexact if denied).
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to restore future alarms after reboot.
• VIBRATE — optional, toggle in Settings.

Permissions are used only on-device for core functionality. Denying microphone or notifications does not crash the app, but recording or notification delivery will not work until enabled.

Data Sharing

No data shared with any third party. No data sold.

Children

App is for general audience 13+. No knowingly collected data from children.

Security

Data is stored locally. No transmission, so no network encryption needed. Keep your device secure.

Changes

We may update this policy. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Last updated date above will change.
